Baseball in the Berkshires is proud to present an historical baseball exhibit entitled Bats Across the Border, from June 3-29. This is a multimedia display on the regional history of baseball, encompassing the entire library. The Baseball in the Berkshires collection contains over 1,200 pieces (artifacts, photos, etc.), many of which will be featured. Baseball is a natural way to mark the passage of time, as its developments often parallel progressions in our country and world. Come join us for a colorful celebration of baseball - for the love of the game.

Baseball in the Berkshires is a non-profit whose mission is to present exhibits and educational programs that help tell the story of the evolution of baseball through its hometown roots. This exhibit has been made possible through the generosity of the Berkshire Bank Foundation, Price Chopper's Golub Foundation, and WJ Blueprint.

In conjunction with this extensive exhibit, we're offering two baseball-themed programs in June:

  • Yankee Memories with Marty Appel - Wednesday, June 14 at 7 pm - Former PR Director for the NY Yankees, considered the leading team historian, and author of 25 books
  • Meet Kim van Alkemade, New York Times Bestselling Author - Wednesday, June 20 at 7 pm - discussing Bachelor Girl and her research into Colonel Jacob Ruppert, eccentric millionaire owner of the NY Yankees best remembered for acquiring Babe Ruth from Boston. Inspired by true events, Bachelor Girl imagines the reason behind Ruppert's 1939 bequest of a fortune - including part ownership of the Yankees baseball team - to a mysterious ex-actress named Helen.
