Program Description

Event Details

Come to the Teen Creative Writing Group this January to workshop your fiction skills with a professional creative writing instructor! This guided writing group will be facilitated by Dr. Mattew Burns, who currently teaches creative writing and literature at SUNY Cobleskill. Join this group if you want to learn valuable writing tips, explore different genres, and grow as a writer! All skill levels are welcome.

Because you will be building on your skills as a writer, you must be able to attend all three sessions of the Teen Creative Writing Group. These sessions will take on the first three Wednesdays in January: 1/8/25, 1/15/25, and 1/22/25.

About our instructor: Dr. Matthew Burns is the author of Imagine the Glacier (Finishing Line Press, 2021). His poems have won a James Hearst Poetry Prize from North American Review, received multiple Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominations, and have appeared or are forthcoming in RHINO, Posit, ellipsis…, Raleigh Review, Camas, Spoon River, Quiddity, and others.  He teaches writing and literature in upstate New York.
