Please join us for a discussion led by Jordan Daniels, a Student Debt Counselor from Empire Justice Center, about how to navigate student loan repayment after three years in the COVID-19 forbearance. Interest on federal student loans will begin accruing again in September 2023 and first payments to servicers will be due in October 2023. Topics we'll cover:
- President Biden’s 12-month plan to ease into payment resumption.
- New income-driven repayment plan SAVE (Saving on A Valuable Education)
- Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) Account Adjustment
- Changes to various forgiveness and discharge programs
- Next steps in the fight for loan cancellation
Attendees will also be given the opportunity to sign up for a free, unbiased, one-on-one counseling session with Jordan to address their specific student loan situation.

Presenter Jordan Daniels is a Student Debt Counselor with the Empire Justice Center, which is part of the Education Debt Consumer Assistance Program (EDCAP), a program of the Community Service Society of New York (CSS). Funded by New York State, EDCAP was created to help New Yorkers navigate the student loan repayment system and maintain their financial health.
