Event Details

Quintocracy is a dynamic woodwind quintet based in the Capital Region whose members are Melanie Chirignan, flute; Kathryn Svatek, horn; Susan Daves, bassoon; Michael Dee, clarinet; and Kelly Lockwood, oboe.  The group's name is a mashup of "quintet" and "democracy." Together, the accomplished musicians firmly believe that music is for all, that it should be as diverse as the culture we live in, and that classical music shouldn't be limited to traditional settings.

With sassy and engaging discussions and superb artistry, Quintocracy draws in listeners who might otherwise not have given classical music a try. In this performance, the group will perform a repertoire they call "Spring Seasonings," featuring music of the "four seasons" with works by Antonio Vivaldi, Samuel Barber, Jennifer Higdon, and Astor Piazzolla.  Come watch Quintocracy break the classical ensemble mold!
