Join us to spend special time with your youth and practice skills needed to better improve communication within your family! Youth in grades 5 – 8 with their parent(s)/caregiver(s) are invited to join Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County for the Strengthening Families Program. This fun, interactive program empowers families. We celebrate family strengths, support youth, parents/caregivers, and help improve family communication skills.
Participating families enjoy dinner together, and then first meet in separate groups. Working with 4H Youth Educators, youth create vision boards to explore interests and future goals. Parents/caregivers meet with an Extension Human Ecology Educator to discuss strategies that improve family communication and help kids better manage screentime and social media use. Families come back together to discuss the vision boards and participate in a family ‘When You Were My Age’ activity (and enjoy dessert!).
Only one person per family should register. IMPORTANT: Please use the "Special Notes" field to list the total number of people in your family, along with the grades and names of your children that will be attending.
