Meet renowned conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya. Growing up in Guilderland, NY, she was inspired to conduct by her high school orchestra teacher, Jeffrey Herchenroder. Yankovskaya will be conducting Violin Concerto by Samuel Barber, Performed by Amaryn Olmeda, Symphony No. 7 by Antonín Dvořák, and Missy Mazzoli’s Orpheus Undone with the Albany Symphony at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady this evening. Get a chance to talk with her and learn about her time in Guilderland and her rise as a conductor before her performance.
