The Guilderland Historical Society will hold its next general meeting on September 19th at 6:15PM at the Guilderland Public Library's Helderberg meeting room. The public is welcome and the Society will be discussing upcoming events and ongoing projects. The meeting will be followed by a 7PM presentation by Dr. (Hon) Aaron Mair regarding the Battle of Normanskill. This battle featured the participation of the 1st Rhode Island regiment which included many Afro-American soldiers and patriots. There are several nuances to this battle which he will explain. Dr. (Hon) Mair has an extensive background which includes as a past President of the Sierra Club.
