Event Details

As a follow up to their August 1 program, "Get to Know the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy," we're invited to join our friends at MHLC on great local hike!  A few MHLC volunteers will lead a guided hike at the beautiful Bozen Kill Preserve in Altamont.  Hike leaders will guide the group along a moderate 2.6-mile out-and-back trail through the preserve, discussing the plants and wildlife spotted along the way. The volunteers leading this hike are knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the Bozen Kill Corridor and will be able to share interesting information about what they see along the trails.

If you're unfamiliar with the Bozen Kill Preserve, it is located at the base of the Bozen Kill Ravine where MHLC protects an additional 400 acres. Many species of wildlife can be seen at the preserve on their way to and from this deeper wilderness area. The preserve offers places to sit in the shade with a picnic table and bench near the Bozen Kill. There is also an overlook shortly out on the trail system with a bench for enjoying the view.

Space is limited to 20 people.  To register, please visit THIS LINK to MHLC's Event Registration page. Once registered, MHLC will be in touch a few days before the hike to confirm directions and items to bring. Note: this hike is considered moderately difficult and is approximately 2.6 miles out and back  Please take this and any participants' ages into consideration when registering.
