Event Details
Come celebrate the 'wearin' of the green' with music from the Emerald Isle. Vocalist Eileen Egan Mack and pianist Michael Clement will present a program of Irish music featuring traditional songs -- and some surprises -- from the classical to the contemporary. "My Lagan Love" is from traditional folk music. Enya's "Evening Falls" will complement "She Moved Through the Fair." "Oh! Tis Sweet to Think" and "The Last Rose of Summer" feature the words of Thomas Moore, an Irish writer, poet and lyricist. The program will close with two anti-war songs, including "Danny Boy" and a modern interpretation of the American Revolutionary song, "Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier."
Eileen Egan Mack is a sparkling vocalist of many genres, including jazz, folk/rock, pop and Broadway tunes and frequently performs with various choirs and choral groups. She does programs as a storyteller for both children and adults, and created a one-woman show that highlights the remarkable career of Jeanne Robert Foster, a pioneering Adirondack poet, journalist, editor and social worker. Pianist Michael Clement has served as a pianist for many local colleges, symphony orchestras and various choirs. He currently serves as Minister of Music at Albany's Emmanuel Baptist and is pianist for the Mendelssohn Club of Albany.
