Event Details
The Bleecker Consort is an early music group formed in 1988, specializing in medieval, renaissance, and baroque music. The consort members come from a variety of professional backgrounds and play a diverse set of instruments, including early strings (e.g. vielle, viol, mandola, mandolin, lute, laud, harp, hurdy-gurdy), recorders, reeds (cornamussen, kelhorn, dulcian, crumhorn), and percussion. In addition, they add period vocals to much of their music! Here is an opportunity to hear richly textured musical compositions, with interweaving melodic lines (also known as polyphony), performed by some very talented musicians -- a lovely way to spend a Fall Sunday afternoon!
