Event Details

We're continuing our celebration of Jazz Appreciation month with another cabaret performance, as The Teresa Broadwell Quintet presents an evening of jazz, swing, bop, and "vocalese."

The group, which performs energetic, small-combo swing and jazz, includes Capital region jazz veterans Mike Novakowski on guitar, Pete Toigo on bass, Michael Lamkin on piano, and Cliff Brucker on drums, providing a powerful and swinging rhythm section.

Teresa Broadwell plays jazz fiddle in a style influenced by the great Stuff Smith. A formally trained violinist and vocalist, she sings lively bop, swing, and jump songs drawn from a wide range of straight-ahead jazz artists. You'll hear novelty songs from the inimitable song stylings of Blossom Dearie, Nat King Cole and Eddie Jefferson, as well as selections from the "Great American Songbook.”

The Swing will be hot and the Jazz will be cool in the cozy atmosphere of the Guilderland library! Join us for a lovely, music-filled spring evening.

Space is limited at our cabaret nights, so please register each person individually!  Coffee, tea, and dessert will be served.
