Did you know that there are 22 family-friendly nature preserves offering outdoor activities -- all within easy driving distance of Guilderland?  Come to this presentation to learn more! Through the remarkable efforts of many volunteers and a dedicated staff, the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy has protected more than 14,000 acres of land in Albany, Schenectady, and Montgomery counties. Their conservation work -- right here in our own community! -- protects natural resources to ensure clean water, clean air, and working landscapes for farming and forestry.  The result is a healthier Capital Region, for both current residents and future generations.

At this discussion (no registration required), MHLC staff will share information on the history of the group, identify local trails and preserves within the Conservancy, discuss volunteer opportunities, and suggest ways visitors can have a positive and safe experience outdoors.  Learn about their fun, 20 Preserve Challenge -- a great reason to get outdoors!

Presenter: Marshall Lefebvre, Stewardship Coordinator, Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy

A special, guided tour of one of the Conservancy's protected areas, the Bozen Kill Preserve, will be held on Saturday, August 5 at 10 am.  Please consult our Library Calendar to learn more!
