If you have a child heading to college, the facts are sobering: on average, college tuition tends to increase by about 8% per year. An 8% college inflation rate means that the cost of college doubles every nine years.

One of the best ways to help defer a portion of this cost is by setting up a tax-advantaged 529 plan -- or College Savings Plan --on behalf of your future graduate (or future grandchild graduate)!

In this Zoom program, offered in collaboration with Bryant Asset Management in Slingerlands, you'll also learn how the SECURE Act 2.0, passed by Congress in late 2022, has now added the ability to roll over unused 529 Funds into a Roth IRA.  Previously, this was not an option, and therefore greatly limited access to unused funds remaining in these types of accounts.

With all of this in mind,a specialist from J.P. Morgan will join us to discuss College Planning Essentials that every parent or grandparent needs to know.

The presenter is Kristia A. Adrian, vice president, and 529 Specialist for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. In her role, Kris travels throughout the country to educate the public on college planning and The Advisor-Guided 529 Plan using College Planning Essentials. Kris holds a B.S. in Family Financial Planning from The Ohio State University. She is Series 7 and 63 licensed and resides in Columbus, OH.
